I smirked as Angel raised her foot and kicked the raven-girl. Serves her right for standing up for that mutt anyways! People are such suckers... I shouldn't have let him live, but then the raven would fly off and I would be in the matchbox... Extending my hand, I took hers and shaked it. Then she sat down beside me, rather close. But I'd been handled this way before, and I took a deep breath and said coolly, "Mitsuki, but you can call me Blake." Boy, this chick was just as her name stated, and Angel. My eyes insantly fell to her tush, and a lovely tush at that. Just like I had always done with the cheerleaders, I pretended to yawn and stretch my arms, but magically, they landed around her shoulders. Flashing her a, I beg you to go further look, I said, "Angel? I don't think I beg to differ at all..." Flipping that one strand of black hair out of my face, I smiled calmly and admired her silky, long hair and my hand began to stroke it lovingly. But for some reason my eyes still were slipping down to her lower torso, and I had to keep them focused on her. I took the cigarette she offered me, and before lighting it, twirled it around in my fingertips, making it fly through the air and spin through my fingers. Like magic, a lighter slipped out of the sleeve of my hand, a skull and crossbones, and I flicked it on, illuminating both of our faces. I lit the cigarette, and then let out a puff of smoke, leaving a ring fading away.

The woman’s lips curled up in a smirk as his hand went around her. Why was it always so easy to get them right where you wanted them? He started to stroke her hair, and the smile widened. This wouldn’t be hard, this wouldn’t be hard at all. Her eyes shifted back to him now, watching as he played with the cigarette, feeling her heart flutter as he played the little tricks. Such a fool, such a d**n fool. But she watched him, licking her lips gently and, might we add, rather seductively as he blew the smoke ring into her face. She smirked, and since he was already getting so very comfortable with her, she got comfortable with him, laying her head on his shoulder. This movement jostled his arm slightly, causing it to slip down to her chest. She didn’t blush, she just gave him an innocent little smile as she took another drag from her cigarette. ”So, Blake; that’s a nice powerful name. I bet you were one that they came back to over and over again when they needed a fix and their football boys were off at away games screwing the away team’s cheer squad.” She giggled, blowing a smoke ring at his ear, wondering if he’d be pissed at the way she was flirting. She took another drag from the cigarette, and looked at him again. ”What brings you around here, anyway, handsome?” The bird crowed weakly, looking upon the dog that now stood beside her. Blood coated her silky black feathers as her eyes seemed to grow cloudy, and she squawked lowly. ”The Raven knows your pain, Nevermore will your misery be alone…Never-“ It’s voice failed it, and it stumbled forward, falling from it’s perch atop the dumpster. As it fell, it shifted back into the girl; which caused it to hit the ground harder because of the weight. It did not move. It barely even seemed to breath.

I watched her, and couldn't help but whimper when she fell. I licked her cheek, as if I were her pet. My tail lay motionless, still, as I watched her. I hoped she would be OK, and until I knew I would not leave her side. My dark pelt blended in with the dark alley, and I lay beside the girl, protecting her. He would kill anyone who came near her, for he was now feeling closer to her. Closer than he'd ever felt before, to anyone.

I stiffened, something was wrong here. Something about her, it just didn't feel like. Though she was going through the motions, but the tone just wasn't right. Narrowing my eyes, I removed my hand from her chest, and sat up, sort of making her withdraw that head of hers. Suddenly, that hair didn't look so silky and smooth andymore, and those eyes, were they full of laughter and joy, or the laughter and joy of knowing he was a sucker for her? Sitting up straight I said coldly, "What brings me around here, is to get some peace and quiet. Apparently, I'm not going to get that here." I rose to my feet, and was about to shift when I noticed, I didn't know if she was one as well. But then I realized she had kicked the bird in the side. Only a really cruel person could have a heart to do such a thing. So I decided to take a chance. Shifting into lion/tiger form, I gave her a backwards glance and began to walk away...

She growled under her breath as he caught on. She should’ve kissed him when she had the chance. She really didn’t know why she cared so much about this one, seeing as it’s not like he was anything special. She figured that it was just the challenge of the process. Eyes flashed, and she watched as he shifted. Figures. She thought. She almost screamed out, as if horrified, but she knew that someone in the godforsaken town would recognize her as the osprey border collie child. And so when she was sure he was watching and no one else was, she shifted to, into the form of a snowy owl. She squawked and spread her wings, gliding on the current to keep pace with him. ”Where are we going, Mitsuki? Somewhere more private, I hope.” She giggled inwardly. The boy apparently didn’t like the way she was flirting, but it happened sometimes. If she stuck around him, then she would learn how to flirt with the introverted types. But maybe, she wanted to stick around him because she felt that she wasn’t alone around him. She’d never admit that, though. She felt something wet against her cheek, and she whimpered slightly. ”Moomy, no, don’t leave me.” She sniffled, as if she was about to cry. Eyes fluttered open then, and she looked around. The present seemed to hit her hard as she looked to the black german shepherd. She sat up, wincing at the pain in her sides. But she didn’t even remember how it happened. She smiled weakly at the dog, reaching out and patting it’s head. ”Hey handsome. Never thought history would repeat itself like this.”

I looked at her and said, "I-I'm sorry its my fault this happened." I never thought I would care about someone so deeply, but I felt connected to her. Then I asked, "Whats your name?" I sat up, and looked at her, smiling.

She smiled weakly, though she did not move a muscle. Slight moan sizzled from out of between her lips as she felt the pain creeping through her, and she winced. She didn't want the dog to think she was weak, she had to show some form of revolt against him. Her eyes shifted toward him, and through the mask of seering hatred she felt for being hurt because of him, there was a dim flicker of hope. "You've heard the name. Parker Industries. Nothing more until you show your human form." She winced, and slowly unfurled her body so that she leaned now against the dumpster.

I nodded and shifted into a human. Then I said, "Names Shadow." I leaned against the wall, and looked at her. I guessed she was angry, because all this was my fault in the first place. I sighed, and looked at her once again saying "I really am sorry, This is why I'm not close to... people."

Her eyes flashed with mild irratation. She should've stayed out of it. She should've kept to herself! Why was she always like this? But he reminded her so much of herself sometimes, the depressive eyes, the lonely gaze. She reached up and took his hand in her own, squeezing it gently. She looked up to him, wincing at the pain that was caused by stretching. "I-It's not your fault, Shadow." She smiled up at him, trying to think of something that she could tell him besides her true name. It was a laughable name, at least that's what she thought. She took a deep breath and her gaze shifted back up to him. "My given name by Abigail, but most, it seems, call me Raven."

I looked up at her and replied, "Nice to meet you..." I paused, watching her, then added. "Thank you... For showing me kindness I thought did not exist." I looked away and sighed, wondering if she really even cared. My heart said yes, yet my brain said no. I could not stand to be hurt again... My soul was already wounded beyond repair, so I couldn't take any more pain in my life. Then I whispered "No one has ever really.... Cared what happens to me, I was left to die. And..." I broke off then said "I'm sorry, I can be a very... dark person... I hope you don't mind"

Abigail laughed, despite the immense pain that it caused her, she laughed at his last comment, about being a dark person. She could not help but laugh, because darkness was the center of her universe; in the center of her universe was a black hole. Her eyes were joyful when they looked up to Shadow, and there was, for once, a genuine smile on her face. "Dear boy, do you really think I wouldn't understand? I am a raven, a symbol of hatred and evil doings. You walk in the form of man's best friend, his guard dog German Shepherd. You have less of a darkness in your aura then I do mine." She squeezed his hand, to let him know she was not making fun, merely setting things straight.

"I may walk the form of man's best friend... but I act as mans worst enemy..." I replied, looking at her. As I felt her squeeze my hand, I smiled again. Never once in my life had any one made me smile, but she did, because she understood me. I spoke again to her this time in a soft whisper, "No one would ever love a dark soul such as myself... Not even my own parents. They thought me soft, why? because I walk the form of a dog! They were killers who walked the form of wolves, not helpless dogs.... Man's best friend." I felt my soul growing with pure hatred of my parents, I walk the form of a dog... But that does not make me weak.

She could not control the laughter once more as she looked up to him and his 'sob' story. She knew what it felt like, she knew the heartache. But hers was for a different reason. "Ay, my parents love me, but my brothers murdered them. It is they who I hide from, shifting in shadows." She sighed, and her eyes dropped to the ground. The three desperados, sometimes they were called. She was the outcast, related but not known. Her name lived in infamy, because it was the same as them.

I looked away and said "Laugh at me all you wish, I need no one by my side." I was tempted to get up and walk off at this, but instead I stayed, listening to her story. I pulled out my blade, and ran my fingers over it, watching blood spill from my veins. I just wanted to stab myself at this point, but I didn't. I just sighed as fresh blood spilled from the cuts on my fingers.

The smell of the blood hit her nostrils, and the raven inside her went mad. It was hungry, it wanted sacrifice. In her weak state, she could not resist it's whims, and so desperately she crawled to him, looking up at him with half shifted eyes; beady, yet complete. "Forgive me, my sweet Shadow, forgive me, my love." Her eyes turned away, looking shamefully at his bleeding hands. She nudged them once, and then gingerly licked the blood pouring wounds, cooing in ecstacy as the warm cider slid down to her stomach...
