She didn't know where she was going. All she knew was that she had managed to steal a car and get away with it, no one really noticing. She had no money, she had nothing except the filth that grew inside her; a half shifter; as far as she knew. No one knew of her gift; she had told no one except her family; who shared the same powers. What would her heritage be; would the child shift or not? There was a sputter, and the car slithered to a stop. Tears brimmed her eyes as she realized she would have to brave the icey weather alone now, over this mountain top. Where was her savior now? She snatched up her beaten coat, and slowly got out of the car. It was ineffective to travel as a pregnant bird; heavy with almost ready egg, and so quickly she shifted when she knew no one was looking, to start the clock anew. She shifted back, put on her coat, and began to struggle to the summit; so that she may see the valley on the other side. A city she had heard whispers about, full of her kind. Could it be true? Flight flew through the mountains, noticing a car down below. He landed and shifted into human form while out of site. Then he walked up and said, "Hello." He walked up to the female before him and took one hand out of his jacket pocket, holding it out. He smiled and guessed she needed help. Then when the silence lasted for several minutes he said, "Names Flight."

She heard the voice, but thought she was going insane. It was from behind her, from the car; it was mocking at her for her stupidity. But then it came again. She yelped and shifted in fright, trying to appear as if she had never been around. Yet the pain was growing; it was expanding it seemed. She jumped about and looked up to the man that had spoke, eyes wide, whimpering. Her secret was out, she'd be burned at the stake and so would the ambomination inside her. She shifted back and smiled weakly, holding her hands out for the handcuffs. "Then make it quick, Flight. I'm in enough pain already. Just douse me in gasoline and sat me ablaze; it'll be an exciting thing to watch, Shauna Jenkins; plastic to ashes; the anti-rags to riches girl." Her eyes dropped to the ground where she just stared at her belly, wondering what was happening inside.

Flight looked at her and wondered if he should just walk away. He looked at her, unsure what to say. He took a step back and kicked the ground, looking at his feet. He looked back up at her, and wasn't really sure what to do.
