The sky is black, the night is moonless. Lining the streets are pinpoints of light made by the streetlights. A large white form stalks on the edges of the circles of light. Her paws don't make a sound on the soft grass she treds upon. Her blue eyes cast an erie glow as they set upon a floodlight that brightens one of the many yards that line the street. Her large pink nose raises to the black sky as she inhales deeply, trying to see if any humans are about. Many smells present themselves to her waiting nostrils, but only stale human smells greet her. She yawns and her great white fangs glint in the lights.
A dog in a nearby fence begins to bark as the smell of the tiger reaches it, so Savanna has to turn and walk swiftly away before the inhabitants come out to investigate their dog's unease. The tiger hides quickly behind a nearby car and peers beneath it at the dog's owner's house. As predicted, the door opens and a large square of light appears on the freshly dewed lawn. A large circle of light appears as well, as the owner turns on a flashlight. The human walks over to the dog, then shines the flashlight at the place the dog is barking at, towards Savanna. The human, however, sees nothing. Because of this the human yells at the still barking dog to quiet it, and the dog ceases its yapping. As the door slams shut the tiger raises her form from the ground again.
She looks around quickly, then continues her trip down the street. She wants to do something, talk to someone. As she rounds a corner she hears sudden footsteps. Her large white and black striped head swings around quickly, her eyes shift back and forth, she tries to find somewhere to hide from the oncoming human. Nothing catches her eye as a place to hide the 800 pound tiger form. She sighs, then changes to her human form. The changing process is quick, it takes her less then a second to change from the massive tiger, to the slight human. By the time the human rounds the corner he is only confronted with a tall silver-haired girl leaning walking toward him. Savanna looks away quickly, not wanting to draw attention to herself. The man looks at her with curiosity all over his face. Maybe he is wondering why she is out walking at this time of night, but he refrains from speaking. When the sound of footsteps dulls, then fades all together, Savanna slips back to her tiger form. She is more comfortable this way, she knows that if she has any problems on the streets she only has to flick out her inch-long claws and slice the foe a few times, then she can either beat a hasty retreat or they will be dead. If her claws fail she can always use her massive bone crushing teeth. Her massive bulk helps as well.
Savanna looks around quickly again, watching for the pedestrians that prefer a midnight stroll, but sees no one. She wishes for company, but not anyone that is human. Humans are dull. They say their life is soooo exciting, they just sold another policy to a customer! Blah, who cares. Shapeshifters can tell about the recent foes they destroyed, scuffles they were part of. The tiger's round ears suddenly perk up. The sound of footsteps come again. She wonders if this is another human, or a fellow shapeshifter. Her tiger form slips into the shadows and she watches, waiting, waiting for the creature to come into the light. She knows that if the creature is a shapeshifter they will easily see her white tiger form crouched here in the shadows, but if they are a human they won't see a thing.
