Chi's eyes narrowed as she slipped behind the the back hinge on the fence. The red fox merely snickered at the sign above her that read, "W A R N I N G! DO NOT ENTER!" The junkyard was so filled with worthless trash, they made it a landfill, and all of the citizens were afraid it would topple over on them. Who could blame them at the least though, the mounds could be seen for miles and miles. But this made the Assassins at home. The second in command padded through the opening and into the junkyard abode. The stench didn't bother her at the least anymore, and she calmly sprang up the junk and on top of a car that was near the top of the mound. Then she shifted into her normal fifteen year old Chi, sprawling out across the hood, letting the setting sun wash over her slim figure. Then she peered back across the junkyard, searching for another assassin to share the days news with. Now the city was received about one kill per day, enough to put them into a panic. Chi usually never picked any guy off the street, she had a target that she would follow for about a week, and then know the precise moment to go in for the strike. But she never killed children, never. There was too much for them to still live for. And wasn't she still considered a child? Just then a cop walked past the fence, and Chi shifted back into a fox until he had passed. It was hard to stay hidden in plain view.

Blade padded into the junkyard in slight hopes of being alone. The hugs gray wolf lashed his blade-like tail. As he walked through the fence, he slashed the warning sign with his tail. He saw a ripped chair, and curled up in it. His blades made it uncomfortable to lay down, which often made it hard to sleep, but he manged. Blade hoped if anyone was around, it would be Chi.

Chi peered down from her perch on the hood of the car and was surprised to see Blade. She had thought he would stay up all night, but he had returned regardless of her prediction he had returned. She shifted and jumped silently down behind the armchair where he was curled up. Perching her front paws on the back of the ripped up leather chair and hollered in a male human voice, "Well look at that! A wolf with blades! I've never seen such a thing!" Then her voice cracked with laughter and she leaped over the chair and on top of him. She flipped over beside him and said, "So, how come your home to our humble abode so early ehh?"

Blade looked up and replied, "Why wouldn't I come back? I could find nothing else to do." He laid his head over his paws, as he felt her fur fur against his. He smiled, and stretched out a leg. Hid tail wagged, while making sure the blade didn't slice anything in its path. He yawned, showing his sharp, white teeth, and then looked up at Chi again, grinning.

Chi laughed out loud her sweet, sugarlike laugh with honey dripping from it and rose, and then started to bounce on the chair, mkaing them both airborne. Then she launced herself hard onto the back of the chair and made it tip, sending them both into the air. She did a flip and landed on a sheet of metal, her paws not even scruffed. This fox knew the place well, and she had better, because she'd lived here all her life. "Nothing to do?!" she barked happily, "Then run straight to me! You know that I can always liven up anyones day!" She sprang around, doing flips and turns over the trash. "Come on Blade!" she called, "I know your just about as fun as a sack of potatoes, but that doesn't mean you have to have a potato head about it! Come teach this cheeky girl a lesson she'll never forget!"

Blade slowly got up, stretched and walk over to her. Then he said jokingly, "Oh I'm not fun? Well thats something even I didn't know." He leaped lightly and playfully at her, pinning her on the ground. He grinned at Chi and said "Well look what I caught." He looked down at her, as if asking Still think I'm no fun?

Chi howled with laughter as he pounced on top of her and pinned her down. Like an eel she slipped from underneath him and behind him, and then pounced on his back and whispered into his ear, "You've gotta be faster than that if you want to catch this fish!" Then she pounced up and did a flip, landing on an old tractor truck tire. Bunching up her hind legs, she sprang up the mound of trash, and then paused on the hood of the car, looked down, and laughed. An old can was on the hood and Chi merely kicked it off with her back foot. It bounced and rolled down the pile, and then Chi felt a jerk that was as hard as an earthquake. The can had hit some of the base junk at the bottom, and with a creek, Chi felt the car start to slide forward. She screamed and the yellow corvette slid down the mound, and as the female looked up, the mound above her was collapsing! It all came tumbling down, sweeping her off of her feet and underneath the pile. The last thing she saw before she was buried alive was the setting sun glinting off of Blade's tail...

Blade watched her jump up on the car hood, watching her from down below. Then he notice the hood of the car start to slide off of the mound of trash. He watched helplessly as trash collapsed and buried Chi alive. I dashed toward the trash pile and tried cutting the trash away with my tail. It wasn't working, so I tried digging at it, which worked a little better. He wasn't sure what to do, so he kept digging as fast as he could.

Chi's lungs finally collapsed at her attempt to hold air in her lungs. She gasped for the precious oxygen and instead got a mouthful of dirt, leaving her choking for the right to breathe. Pedaling with her pas got her nowhere, and finally, right when she was about to give up hope and die, she saw the sunlight stream through a hole in the tomb of garbage, and her crushed ears caught the sound on slicing and digging. Forcing open her orange lids, she saw a faint glance of Blade's face, and opened her mouth to cry out, but only managed a slight, "here!" Then she closed her eyes and fell back into the heap, being tossed around by still falling heaps, and praying that the car wouldn't land on her.

Blade heard Chi's voice, though it was soft, and started digging faster. Now he felt hopeful, for he could see her face, and he pushed all the trash that buried her off. Then when most of it was gone, he grabbed the scruff of her neck and gently pulled her out. He could tell she was still alive just by the gentle rise and fall of her breathing. He didn't know what to do, so he just curled up by her side, hoping she would be OK. He couldn't live another day without her by his side, so if she died today... he probably would too.

Choking, Chi coughed up the dirt that had made a nest in her lungs. She shivered and curled up next to Blade. Desperatly wanting to tell him how much she loved him, the words couldn't come. The stench of blood ran down her throat and she knew that the consumed garbage had scraped and scratched her insides. She wouldn't be abe to talk anytime soon, but she was just happy to be alive. Still shuddering, Chi rose to her feet and stumbled a few steps, trying to escape her 'almost' grave, the junkyard. But slowly, she collapsed, coughing up a storm, blood running from the inside of her mouth out.

Blade knew she couldn't talk, so he echoed her thoughts and said, "I love you." Then he watched her stumble off, only to fall to the ground. He rushed over to her, and said "Come on, lean against my side, I'll get you out of here." He made sure his blades weren't close to her, so they wouldn't cut her. Then he sighed and helped her up by gently grabbing the scruff of her neck.
